Download a 30 Day DEMO Version

NOTE: This demo version is just like the full version of the program except it has a 10 second registration reminder screen when you start it and it will stop working after 30 days.  If you don't agree to these terms, please don't download the demo.

Sign-In-Out is a pair of Windows programs.  One runs on a network server and the other runs on each of the user PCs.  The server side program acts as a database for sign in/out information from the users.  When a user signs in or out, the client sends the new information to the server were the server saves the information and notifies the other users who are running the user program.  When a user first starts their program, it receives the latest information from the server.  The programs use the TCP/IP protocol to share information.  Both parts of the demo version can be run on the same PC or across a network for test purposes.  The default demo configuration is set to run the server and client programs on the same PC.

The different variations have different features and different system requirements.

Please read the installation instructions at the bottom of this page.  Full documentation is provided in the file you download.

Some times "one size fits all" means you don't have any choices, but with Sign-In-Out you do have choices.  There are now 4 variations of Sign-In-Out so that one of them should fit your business.  If you have any questions, email Support@Sign-In-Out.com or call 540-578-4125 for assistance.

# 1 - Version 2.0.2 8x20: This is a major update from previous versions.  If you have used a previous version, you must re-enter user's names and other information.  We will try to work with those who have registered the program to convert their old configuration to the new program.  This version displays 8 pages of 20 names per page.  The Server must have video resolutions of at least 1024x768 pixels, but the User PCs can be run with just 800x600 resolution.

Unzip this file into its own folder and run the Installer.exe file.  Part of the zip file is a Documentation folder.  There are several PDF files about installing the program, a User's manual and an Administrator's  manual.

#2 - Version 2.0.2 10x15: This is a major update similar to the above version but this one has 10 pages of 15 names per page.  The Server requires a PC with 1024x768 resolution, but the User PCs can be run with just 800x600 resolution.

Unzip this file into its own folder and run the Installer.exe file.  Part of the zip file is a Documentation folder.  There are several PDF files about installing the program, a User's manual and an Administrator's  manual.

#3 - Version 2.0.2 6x25: This is a major update similar to the above version but this one has 6 pages of 25 names per page.  The Server and Client programs require PCs with 1024x768 resolution.

Unzip this file into its own folder and run the Installer.exe file.  Part of the zip file is a Documentation folder.  There are several PDF files about installing the program, a User's manual and an Administrator's  manual.

#4 - Version 2.0.2 8x20A: This is a special version that was modified for one organization.  It displays an extra column of User Information on the main User's screen.  This version displays 8 pages of 20 names per page.

If one of the Standard Variations don't meet your needs, please email us about any special requirements you would like.  We may be able to customize a version for you.

Installing the DEMO Version.

  1. After downloading the variation you want, unzip it into it's own temporary directory.
  2. Using the Windows Explorer, change to the directory where you just unzipped the files and run the Installer.exe program. It will display your installation choices.  Be sure to read and follow any special instructions in the ReadMe.txt file.
  3. Click on the "Install Server Program" button. Follow the prompts. The server program is installed in the "\Program Files\Sign-In-Out Server" directory. For the demo version to run on one PC just accept the default setup options.
  4. When you are returned to the Installer screen, click on the "Install Client Program" button. Follow the prompts. The client program is installed in the "\Program Files\Sign-In-Out Client" directory. For the demo version to run on one PC just accept the default setup options.
  5. You can create shortcuts on the Desktop for the two programs. If you used the default installation directories, the programs are named: "\Program Files\Sign-In-Out Server\Sign-In-Out Server.exe" and "\Program Files\Sign-In-Out Client\Sign-In-Out Client.exe"
  6. Start the server program. The first time the server program runs it will ask for some configuration information. You can accept the default configuration values for this demo. Note that the default password is "password". You will need it later. That starts the server program. You can minimize it to get it out of the way.
  7. Start the client program that was installed in step #5. The first time the client program runs it will ask for some configuration information. For this demo just accept the default configuration values. Note that the default password is "password". You will need it later. That starts the client program.
  8. The client program should now display the Employee Status Screen. Click on an employee's name to sign them in or out.
  9. Drag the return time slider to the time the employee expects to be back.
  10. Drop-down the Location/Reason dropdown list and select an entry, or type your own.
  11. After you've set their return time and the location or reason they are signing out, click on the Save button.
  12. The main screen should now display the employee's new status. In a networked system, all the other PCs running the client program would also show the new status.

That's all there is to it. When you install the programs to work over a network, you will need to enter "real values" in place of some of the default configuration values. You can read the documentation files that you unzipped in step #1 for full details of network operation. The documentation is in Adobe PDF format.  A free PDF viewer program is available for download at www.Adobe.com.  It is called the Acrobat Reader.

If you have questions or comments, email them to Support@Sign-In-Out.com.
