Put an In/Out Board on Everyone's Desk
Nelson Technical Service has released Sign-In-Out v. 1.8, a time-saving Windows
application that replaces the manual sign in/out boards that companies use to
track their employees' locations. With Sign-In-Out, receptionists, secretaries,
and employees can find coworkers quickly and easily. This reduces the amount of
time that customers are kept waiting on the telephone or in the lobby.
Part of Sign-In-Out runs on your Windows server, while the other part runs on
each employee's PC. To sign in, simply click your name, and move the slider-bar
to the "in" position. When you sign out, you can use a drop-down menu of
locations and reasons, or you can enter your own custom message. Sign-In-out can
be configured to display phone, fax or pager numbers for each employee so your
coworkers can locate you quickly.
The program can keep track of up to 120 employees, broken down into eight
workgroups of 15 people. To find somebody's location, simply click on their
workgroup.
New features in v. 1.8 include the ability for the program administrator to
easily move people from workgroup to workgroup, and the ability for employees to
quickly navigate the workgroups to find coworkers easily.
